Klondike Earth Solutions is a 100% locally owned Yukon company providing vegetation management, land clearing, FireSmart treatments, utility right-of-way work, and heavy equipment services. We work in remote northern conditions and take safety, environmental stewardship, and quality of work seriously.
The role
We need an experienced Crew Supervisor to lead a field crew of about 10 employees. You will plan and direct daily work, keep people and equipment productive and safe, and deliver land clearing, brushing, and FireSmart work to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
• Supervise, schedule, and lead a crew of approximately 10 employees
• Plan and oversee land clearing, brushing, mulching, and FireSmart treatments
• Set daily priorities, assign tasks, and monitor production and quality
• Lead tailgate meetings, JHAs, and on-site safety briefings
• Follow client specs, permits, and environmental requirements
• Perform or oversee routine maintenance and minor field repairs on equipment
• Inspect equipment each shift and report deficiencies promptly
• Keep accurate daily records (hours, production, equipment, incidents)
• Coach the crew on safe work and quality; deal with issues professionally
• Coordinate with management on logistics, parts, mobilization, and clients
Required
• Proven experience supervising crews (ideally 8–12 people) in vegetation management, land clearing, forestry, utility ROW, or similar field work
• Hands-on land clearing, brushing, and FireSmart / fuel-treatment experience
• Practical knowledge of equipment maintenance and minor field repairs
• Strong safety mindset and the ability to hold others to the same standard
• Valid Class 5 licence (Class 1 or 3 an asset)
• Fit for long days in Yukon weather and remote conditions
• Reliable, organized, and a clear communicator
Assets
• UTW / UTT or utility vegetation experience
• Leadership for Safety Excellence, Standard First Aid/CPR
• Bear awareness, WHMIS, other northern tickets
• Mulcher, hydro-axe, excavator, or skid-steers
