Position Summary
The Contract & Partnership Manager is responsible for managing the organization's contractual relationships, partnerships, and business agreements throughout the Yukon. This position plays a key role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, government agencies, Indigenous organizations, businesses, community partners, and other stakeholders.
The Contract & Partnership Manager oversees contracts from initial development and negotiation through execution, monitoring, renewal, and completion. The position ensures that contractual obligations are clearly understood and fulfilled while identifying opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and develop new business relationships.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, relationship-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a Northern and community-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, agreements, service arrangements, and partnership agreements.
- Review contracts to ensure terms, deliverables, timelines, pricing, responsibilities, and performance requirements are clearly understood.
- Coordinate contract negotiations with clients, contractors, suppliers, and partners.
- Ensure contractual obligations are tracked and completed within required timelines.
- Maintain an organized contract management system and ensure agreements, amendments, renewals, and supporting documentation are current.
- Monitor contract performance and identify potential risks, delays, or compliance issues.
- Coordinate contract renewals, extensions, amendments, and close-outs.
- Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained before contracts or amendments are finalized.
- Work with management and legal advisors when specialized contract or legal advice is required.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive contractual and business information.
Partnership Development & Management
- Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to establish new partnerships that support organizational and business objectives.
- Maintain regular communication with existing partners to understand their needs and expectations.
- Develop partnership agreements, memorandums of understanding, service agreements, and other collaborative arrangements as required.
- Support mutually beneficial relationships with Yukon businesses, contractors, organizations, and community partners.
- Represent the organization professionally at meetings, networking events, community events, and industry functions.
- Monitor partnership performance and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Act as a key point of contact between the organization and external partners.
- Government & Indigenous Partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with Yukon Government, Government of Canada, municipalities, First Nations, Indigenous organizations, and other public-sector stakeholders.
- Monitor relevant government procurement opportunities, programs, funding opportunities, and partnership initiatives.
- Support the development of proposals, bids, submissions, and partnership opportunities.
- Ensure contracts and partnerships are approached with respect for Yukon First Nations, Indigenous communities, and local priorities.
- Where appropriate, support the development of local and Indigenous procurement, employment, and business opportunities.
- Understand and incorporate applicable Yukon and federal requirements into contracts and partnership arrangements.
Procurement & Business Development
- Monitor upcoming contract opportunities and identify potential business opportunities.
- Assist with requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), expressions of interest (EOIs), tenders, and other procurement processes.
- Coordinate bid preparation with internal departments and external partners.
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and subcontractors to support successful project delivery.
- Evaluate potential partners and contractors based on qualifications, capacity, pricing, experience, and organizational requirements.
- Maintain a database of current and potential partners, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Research market conditions and identify opportunities for growth within the Yukon.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure contracts are consistent with applicable legislation, regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements.
- Track insurance, licences, certifications, permits, and other documentation required under contracts.
- Identify contractual and operational risks and bring concerns forward to management.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety, employment, privacy, and other applicable requirements.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained for audits, reporting, and contract verification.
- Assist with resolving contractual disputes or performance concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Monitor contract values, billing requirements, payment schedules, and financial obligations.
- Coordinate with accounting and management to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processes.
- Track contract budgets and identify potential cost overruns or financial risks.
- Prepare contract reports, partnership updates, and management summaries.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, agreements, correspondence, and performance documentation.
- Support budgeting and forecasting related to contracts and partnerships.
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with operations, finance, human resources, project management, and senior leadership.
- Ensure internal teams understand their contractual responsibilities and deadlines.
- Coordinate meetings and follow-ups related to contract and partnership requirements.
- Communicate changes to contractual requirements or partner expectations to the appropriate internal teams.
- Support operational teams in resolving issues that may affect contract performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in business administration, contract management, law, project management, commerce, or a related field is considered an asset.
- 3–5+ years of experience in contract management, partnership development, procurement, business development, project coordination, or a related role.
- Experience working with government, Indigenous organizations, businesses, contractors, or community organizations is an asset.
- Strong understanding of contract administration and relationship management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract/document management systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the Yukon as required.
- Yukon Experience – Considered an Asset
- Experience working in the Yukon or Northern Canada.
- Knowledge of Yukon Government procurement and contracting processes.
- Knowledge of Yukon First Nations and Indigenous business/community relationships.
- Experience working with Yukon businesses and local contractors.
- Understanding of the unique logistical, economic, and operational considerations of working in Northern and remote communities.

Working Conditions
- Based in Dawson City, Yukon.
- May require attendance at meetings, community events, conferences, and partner locations.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate meetings or community events.

- Must be comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders and operating in changing Northern conditions.
