This remote records role supports customer service and office administration by making a queue easier to search and report on. You will not judge service quality or invent new categories to make an ambiguous case fit.

Read enough to label correctly

A customer may mention an order and a billing problem in the same message. Follow the company's rules about primary and secondary categories. If a case changed topic over several replies, identify which part the assigned tagging project covers. When a label is uncertain, leave the item for a reviewer with a note showing the possible categories. A quick tag that misrepresents a sensitive issue can hide it from the right team.

Some work will be a defined batch of older cases. Record what you completed and which items remain unresolved. Do not change the underlying customer narrative or closed status merely because you are updating a label. Where a standard tag has been retired, use the current mapping provided by the employer. Keep personal details in the case system rather than copying them into a tagging spreadsheet.

A category may influence who sees a case next. That makes accuracy important even if the task is described as data cleanup. If an urgent service concern appears in an older batch, use the employer's escalation guide rather than continuing to tag it as a routine historical item. For completed cases, preserve the original closing status. The reviewed category should make retrieval more useful without rewriting what happened or creating a new request from an old conversation.

A case can mention billing and delivery while the actual request is about only one of them. Read the customer's question and use the employer's category definitions before applying a label. If two tags appear equally plausible, flag the case under the review rule instead of making a guess that sends it to the wrong queue. Do not change the original customer text to fit a category.
