Job Summary:
Are you a skilled mechanic and welder looking for a challenging and dynamic role? Look no further! We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Foreman to join our small construction, landscaping, and snow removal service company. As the Shop Foreman, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of our shop, ensuring the smooth functioning of our fleet and equipment. This diversified role offers exciting challenges and the chance to broaden your skill set.
Responsibilities:
- Work on automotive vehicles or lawn, garden and snow equipment to keep our fleet running smoothly.
- Handle automotive and electrical work for trailers and auxiliary equipment.
- Utilize your welding skills and fabrication expertise to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment.
- Oversee a small fleet of 10 vehicles, skid steers and trailers.
- Operate equipment such as bobcats, forklifts for snow removal.
- Opportunities for you to work alongside our field crews during slower periods. This may involve performing material handling, delivery or tasks such as carpentry, metal roofing, renovations, framing, and mechanical installations for livestock barns, landscaping projects, and snow removal services.
- Proven experience as a mechanic and welding, with expertise in either automotive or equipment repair, welding, or small engine repairs.
- Proficiency in electrical work for trailers and auxiliary equipment.
- Strong welding skills and fabrication experience.
- Ability to manage and maintain a small fleet of vehicles and trailers.
- Possession of a valid class 5 driver's license.
- G endorsement or 1A license would be a bonus.
- Equipment operating experience with bobcats, forklifts, and snow removal experience is a plus.
