Our TorontoJobs.ca Recruiting division client, located in Vaughan, is a small public accounting firm that has built a strong reputation for providing personalized accounting, tax, and advisory services to owner-managed businesses and individuals. Due to continued growth and long-term succession planning, they are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare compilation engagement financial statements
• Assist with review engagements (experience is considered an asset)
• Prepare corporate, personal, and trust income tax returns
• Prepare T3 Trust Income Tax Returns and T4 and T5 information slips and returns
• Work directly with a portfolio of owner-managed business clients
• Communicate with clients to obtain information and respond to accounting and tax-related inquiries
• Prepare year-end working papers and supporting documentation
• Ensure client engagements are completed accurately and on schedule
• Collaborate with the firm's partners and accounting team on a variety of client engagements

Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred
• Several years of experience working in a Canadian public accounting firm
• Strong experience preparing compilation engagement financial statements and corporate income tax returns
• Experience preparing personal tax returns
• Experience preparing trust income tax returns is considered an asset
• Experience preparing T3, T4, and T5 information returns is considered an asset
• Experience with review engagements is considered an asset
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting and tax principles
• Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills
• Ability to manage multiple client files while meeting deadlines

Software
Experience with the following software is preferred:

• CaseWare
• CaseView
• Taxprep
• QuickBooks Online (experience is considered an asset, as many clients use this platform)
