Optician | Optometric Assistant

At Oasis Eyecare, we believe great eye care should feel welcoming, personal, and even a little fun! Our clinic combines full-scope optometric care with a collection of trendy, high-quality eyewear, and we're looking for an experienced Optician / Optometric Assistant to join our team.

This is a cross-trained role for someone who is comfortable moving between the optical gallery, front desk, and pre-testing throughout the day. If you're experienced in optometry, enjoy working directly with patients, and like having variety in your role, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

Optical & Dispensing

• Help patients select frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and eyewear recommendations.
• Take accurate optical measurements.
• Assist with eyewear fittings, adjustments, repairs, orders, and pickups.
• Maintain an organized and visually appealing optical gallery.
• Provide a personalized and knowledgeable patient experience.

Front Desk & Patient Care

• Welcome patients and provide a friendly, professional first impression.
• Manage patient check-in and check-out.
• Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Process payments and assist with general administrative responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate patient information and support smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.

Pre-Testing & Clinical Support

• Perform pre-testing and screening procedures before patients see the Optometrist.
• Prepare patients and equipment for examinations.
• Accurately document testing information and patient details.
• Support the Optometrist and clinical team as needed.
• Help ensure patients move efficiently and comfortably through their appointments.

Who We're Looking For

• Has previous optical/optician, front desk, and pre-testing experience.
• Is confident working with patients in both a clinical and optical setting.
• Has strong customer service and communication skills.
• Is organized and comfortable multitasking in a busy clinic.
• Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in accurate work.
• Is proactive and willing to jump in wherever needed.
• Is comfortable with technology and learning different clinic systems.
• Is friendly, professional, dependable, and team oriented.
• Enjoys creating a positive experience for patients from check-in through checkout.
