The Barrie KOA is currently looking to hire in our Barrie KOA Kitchen department. Seeking individuals who have a passion to provide exceptional customer service, a strong work ethic, and are seeking an opportunity that provides individual growth. We are seeking an individual who has a passion for working with foodservice, and the ability to organize and keep a clean kitchen with proper sanitary efforts. We will have opportunities for the Barrie KOA Team members who are able to work a variety of shifts, on a rotating schedule throughout the summer season.

Position Summary : The Barrie KOA KitchenTeam Member has the ability to provide exceptional customer service to all guests, allowing them to enjoy a memorable camping experience. This role includes, but is not limited to, making and serving pizza from scratch, preparing breakfast items, and more. As part of the Barrie KOA Kitchen Team you will be required to implement a structured foodservice regime. This includes following cleaning schedules, adhering to proper sanitation measures and safe food handling protocols.

Position Responsibilities:

*Provide superior guest service either over the telephone or in person, by being enthusiastic, attentive, friendly and helpful. Handle all guest issues with respect. *To contribute to the organization and operation of an efficient and smooth functioning KOA Kitchen by following all KOA guidelines and procedures. *Work well in a team environment, accepting instruction from supervisors and managers on duty. *Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. *Report all guest problems, requests or complaints to the owners, campground managers or shift supervisor and follow-up to resolve the issue if possible. *Follow specific cash and credit card handling procedures as it relates to the KOA Kitchen sales and to properly use the computer. *Prepare pizza, ice cream products & treats in a quick and efficient manner. While adhering to portion controls consistently. *Ensure that all ingredients adhere to our safety standards. Prepare all adequate supplies prepared for the coming days. *Monitor load times in the pizza oven. *Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of a clean prep station, ovens, Ice Cream coolers, fridges and all other kitchen stations. *Perform all other duties as assigned by the Campground Manager. *Comply with all federal and provincial safety programs by adhering to established guidelines as set out by Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations as they relate to the workplace ensuring your safety, as well as that of fellow staff and campground guests.

Qualifications:

*Have experience or expressed interest in this field. *Previous work experience dealing in food service. *Possess strong leadership and communication skills. *Be flexible with their schedule. Working primarily weekends, as business levels require. *Speak the English language fluently. French is an asset. *Great guest service skills. *Computer skills. *Competent in cash handling. *Applicants must be able to complete mandatory training in April, prior to season start. *Must be able to work weekends May - October.

Physical Requirements

*Work in all weather conditions both indoor and outdoor. *Be able to be on their feet for a full shift, 4 - 8 hours or more. *Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. *Long periods of standing, bending, and kneeling

Wage & Hours:

*Wage starting at $16.55, or student minimum wage (should it apply) $15.60 *May, June, September & October primarily weekends. *July & August shifts vary through the week as needed.

Expected Results:

*Friendly, helpful and professional guest service delivery. *Demonstration of a positive attitude with guests, management and team members. *Greet all guests with a positive attitude and well-groomed appearance, a smile, recognition and a proper KOA uniform and name tag. *Attention to detail when taking pizza and ice cream orders or requests. *Careful, honest and accurate money handling. *Promotion of Barrie KOA Campground and the Barrie KOA Kitchen.

Reports to: Management & Owners

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $15.60 - $16.55/hour.
