About the Role

The Senior Product Manager role is responsible for developing and executing product strategies and roadmaps aligned with business goals and market trends. The role drives the product development process through collaboration with cross-functional teams and utilisation of market research to inform product decisions.

This role will have a strong external focus, engaging with customers, global stakeholders and industry sources to refine and prioritise the strategic direction of the solution.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Planning

• Develop and execute product strategies and roadmaps aligned with overall business goals and market trends

• Define and prioritise product requirements, user stories, and use cases based on customer needs and business objectives

• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to inform product decisions

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and ensure smooth product development and launch

• Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and customer pain points to drive product innovation

• Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and strategy to internal and external stakeholders

• Discover and validate market problems (both for existing and future customers)

Product Development

• Drive the product development process from concept to launch, including defining product specifications, collaborating with engineering teams, and overseeing testing and quality assurance

• Build, and own, the product roadmap of incremental improvements and iterative development

• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop product collateral, sales enablement tools, and marketing campaigns to drive product adoption and revenue growth

• Provide input into go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and messaging for product launches

• Data analysis of customer feedback and user testing to inform product decisions and iterate on product features and functionality

• Define and track product performance metrics, conduct data analysis, and generate insights to measure product success and identify areas for improvement

• Research and evaluate new technologies, industry trends, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for product differentiation and competitive advantage

Cross-Functional Collaboration, Communication and Mentorship

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success, to ensure alignment and smooth execution of product initiatives

• Build relationships, and maintain open lines of communication within the company and with key external stakeholders

• Create and distribute regular updates of changes and progress within the solution roadmap

• Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture within the product team and across the organisation

• Foster a positive and collaborative learning environment by providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members and contributing to their professional growth and development

Support Build Processes

• Write the user stories that reflect the key outputs, from a customer perspective, to ensure the engineering team have sufficient context and requirements and a clear "definition of done"

• Contribute to the engineering planning process by providing insights of product strategy and vision to relevant parties

• Participate in relevant scrum ceremonies (such as sprint planning and sprint reviews as a key stakeholder)

• Determine buy/build/partner decisions

• Conduct high-level technology assessments to determine suitability for use in the product

• Monitor delivery progress and communication to stakeholders regarding delays and launch timeframes to make sure they're informed and dependencies can be managed

Product Performance and Profitability Analysis

• Develop profitability calculation data relating to the potential or actual success of a proposition using ROI, cost of delay or other modelling tools to determine products/features to add, keep, retire or grow

• Define and analyse product success metrics to evaluate the success of the product and changes/new features launched

• Perform data analysis in collaboration with the BI team to extract product usage statistics

• Gather and organise market data research to develop and articulate the positioning and value of a proposition in various possible markets

• Work with key customers, analysts and members of the global organisation to gather requirements for future releases based on feedback

Key Qualifications

• Deep experience of product development processes, methodologies, and best practices covering the product lifecycle

• Excellent communication skills across all mediums

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, support and customer success to achieve successful product outcomes

• Experience in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to inform product decisions

• Data-driven mindset, with experience analyzing verification performance metrics, running experiments, and leveraging insights to drive product improvements

• Proven track record of successfully developing and launching software products, preferably in a global or fast-paced startup environment

• Strong understanding of product development processes, methodologies, and best practices

• Demonstrated experience in driving product strategy, roadmap planning, and product lifecycle management

• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success, to deliver successful product outcomes

• Experience in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to inform product decisions

Bonus

• Certifications or specialised training in product management or related fields

• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies, and exposure to product management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Trello

• Experience in the SaaS industry, with a deep understanding of SaaS business models

• Track record of successfully working with global remote teams

• Experience in product management for enterprise-level or B2B SaaS products

• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies, and familiarity with product management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Trello

• Experience with go-to-market strategies and product positioning

• Experience with decision engines and billing systems
