Practice Leader - PE/M&A

The successful individual will inherit existing relationships, collaborate with senior leadership, and be empowered to drive new business, expand carrier partnerships, and build out the practice as the business continues to invest in this specialist area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the firm's Private Equity & M&A insurance practice across Canada.
• Develop and execute the strategic vision for the practice, identifying new market opportunities and driving revenue growth.
• Advise private equity firms, portfolio companies, and corporate clients on transactional risk and insurance solutions.
• Originate and manage complex M&A insurance placements, including Warranty & Indemnity, Tax, Contingent Liability, and other transactional products.
• Build and strengthen relationships with private equity sponsors, legal advisors, investment banks, and other deal professionals.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver integrated solutions across Property & Casualty, Financial Lines, Employee Benefits, and specialty practices.
• Mentor and develop team members while contributing to the firm's broader leadership initiatives.
• Represent the firm within the Canadian deal community through networking, industry events, and thought leadership.

The Ideal Candidate

• 15+ years of industry experience.
• Proven experience within Transactional Risk, Private Equity, M&A, Financial Lines, or a closely related specialty.
• Established relationships within the Canadian private equity and M&A ecosystem.
• Strong business development track record and ability to originate new client relationships.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, whether through team management or practice development.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance client delivery and commercial growth.
• Entrepreneurial approach and desire to help shape the future direction of a growing business.
