About the Role
The Senior Development Officer is a revenue-generating role. Yaldei is seeking an autonomous, results-driven professional who is comfortable speaking about money, making direct asks, and guiding conversations toward meaningful investment. This seasoned fundraiser will balance short-term goals with long-term vision to help build a reliable income stream for the organization. The ideal candidate will actively bring prospective donors to experience Yaldei firsthand while pursuing new opportunities for revenue generation. Proactive and relationship-driven, they will creatively identify and engage new donors, tailor interactions to individuals and situations, and maintain strong stewardship and follow-through.
The only one of its kind in Quebec, Yaldei is a not-for-profit developmental centre and school devoted to helping children reach their full potential. Yaldei is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of experienced therapists and educators dedicated to early intervention treatment, individualized therapies and special education programs for children from birth to 21 years.
Our integration of advanced clinical, behavioral, educational and family support services provides children with the opportunity to learn how to walk, talk, play, attend school and lead productive lives as part of their community.
Primary Responsibilities
Fundraising
- Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities (individual, corporate, and governmental)
- Increase overall donations by acquiring new donors through in-person visits, meetings, email outreach, letter writing, and phone calls, soliciting current donors, and re-engaging lapsed donors
- Move donors through the pipeline by building and maintaining relationships through ongoing stewardship
- Manage and grow a portfolio of prospective and existing donors, with a focus on Major Gifts
- Draft grant proposals, impact reports, donor communications, and other related materials
- Leverage organizational events to engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward potential and existing donors
- Work with the Executive Director to ensure that fundraising strategies align with the organization’s mission and funding needs
- Support leadership and volunteers with individual fundraising and donor relations efforts
Outreach & Volunteer Management
- Secure, organize, and lead tours of Yaldei for existing and potential donors
- Engage volunteers in meaningful and appropriate fundraising efforts, supporting and managing volunteer committees as needed
- Increase the organization’s visibility through targeted outreach and relationship building with potential organizational and community partners
Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management
- Oversee the timely acknowledgment of donations, impact reports, etc., working with outside providers as needed
- In collaboration with the Events Team, plan and coordinate fundraising and donor recognition events and other initiatives to recognize, retain, and grow existing donors
- Build and execute on a culture of pro-active and ongoing stewardship and donor engagement.
Data Management
- Optimize, administer, and maintain the CRM database with regularity and precision
- Generate donor and other fundraising-related reports to guide fundraising strategy and decision-making

Professional Qualifications
- Robust understanding of best practices in fundraising, stewardship, and donor relations
- Previous fundraising experience in a major gift role for a minimum of 2 years
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Polished presentation and public speaking skills
- Fully bilingual, written and oral, in both French and English
- Proficiency in required software, including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.), and experience with data management software and/or other customer relationship management (CRM) systems

Unique en son genre au Québec, Yaldei est un centre de développement et une école à but non lucratif consacrés à aider les enfants à atteindre leur plein potentiel. Yaldei regroupe une équipe multidisciplinaire de thérapeutes et d’éducateurs expérimentés dédiés à l’intervention précoce, aux thérapies individualisées et aux programmes d’éducation spécialisée pour les enfants de la naissance jusqu’à l’âge de 21 ans. Notre intégration de services cliniques, comportementaux, éducatifs et de soutien familial avancés offre aux enfants la possibilité d’apprendre à marcher, parler, jouer, fréquenter l’école et mener une vie productive au sein de leur communauté.
Principales responsabilités
Collecte de fonds
- Identifier et développer de nouvelles opportunités de financement (individuelles,
- corporatives et gouvernementales)
- Augmenter les dons globaux en acquérant de nouveaux donateurs par des visites en
- personne, des rencontres, des courriels, des lettres et des appels téléphoniques, en
- sollicitant les donateurs actuels et en réengageant les anciens donateurs
- Faire progresser les donateurs dans le cycle philanthropique en développant et
- maintenant des relations grâce à une stratégie continue de fidélisation
- Gérer et développer un portefeuille de donateurs potentiels et existants, avec un accent
- particulier sur les dons majeurs
- Rédiger des demandes de subventions, des rapports d’impact, des communications aux
- donateurs et tout autre matériel connexe
- Tirer parti des événements organisationnels afin d’engager, de solliciter et de fidéliser

Rayonnement et gestion des bénévoles
- Organiser et diriger des visites de Yaldei pour les donateurs actuels et potentiels
- Mobiliser les bénévoles dans des activités de collecte de fonds significatives et appropriées, et soutenir ou gérer les comités de bénévoles au besoin
- Accroître la visibilité de l’organisation par des activités ciblées de rayonnement et de développement de relations avec des partenaires communautaires et organisationnels potentiels
Développement et gestion des relations avec les donateurs
- Superviser les remerciements de dons, les rapports d’impact et autres suivis, en collaboration avec des fournisseurs externes au besoin
- En collaboration avec l’équipe des événements, planifier et coordonner les événements de collecte de fonds et de reconnaissance des donateurs ainsi que d’autres initiatives visant à reconnaître, fidéliser et développer les donateurs existants
- Développer et mettre en œuvre une culture proactive et continue de fidélisation et d’engagement des donateurs
Gestion des données
- Optimiser, administrer et maintenir la base de données CRM avec rigueur et précision
- Produire des rapports liés aux donateurs et à la collecte de fonds afin de guider les stratégies et la prise de décision

Qualifications professionnelles

- Excellentes compétences en recherche et en rédaction
- Excellentes aptitudes en présentation et en communication publique
- Bilinguisme complet, tant à l’écrit qu’à l’oral, en français et en anglais
- Maîtrise des logiciels requis, incluant la suite MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
- Acrobat, etc.), ainsi qu’une expérience avec les logiciels de gestion de données et/ou les systèmes de gestion de relations clients (CRM)
