Senior Payroll Specialist

Our client, a well-established organization on the South Shore, is looking for a payroll expert to take charge of the entire processing cycle and act as a reference within the team. You will work in a stable environment where your rigor, autonomy, and experience will be fully valued.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage the complete payroll cycle (data entry, validation, processing, and reconciliation) for several employee groups
• Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and provincial standards (Canada Revenue Agency, Revenu Québec, labour standards, CPP/QPP, QPIP, Employment Insurance, CNESST, etc.)
• Produce and submit government remittances, Records of Employment, T4 slips, and Relevé 1 slips
• Maintain up-to-date employee master files and payroll system settings
• Answer staff and management questions regarding compensation and benefits
• Collaborate with Accounting and Human Resources for Reconciliations and period closings
• Monitoring legislative and tax changes and implementing their impact on processes
• Acting as a resource person and contributing to the training of less experienced colleagues

Your profile

• 10 years of payroll experience , ideally in a multi-employee environment
• DEC or AEC in accounting, administration, or a related field; Payroll certification (CPP) considered an asset
• Good knowledge of Canadian payroll standards and solid understanding of Quebec regulations
• Proficiency with a payroll system (Ceridian/Dayforce, ADP, Desjardins, Nethris, or equivalent) and with Excel
• Rigorous, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
• Impeccable discretion in handling confidential information
• Excellent communication skills in French; English is an asset
