Senior Electrical Engineer (Kitchener)

Position

Senior Electrical Engineer – Kitchener, Ontario (Hybrid – 2 days on site per week).

As a Senior Electrical Engineer reporting to the Manager, Aux Electrical Systems and Equipment, you will apply advanced electrical engineering knowledge to support the design and analysis of nuclear products and projects. This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and the ability to develop and review high‑quality engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design and analysis for nuclear products and projects, including electrical system design, instrumentation and controls, and system wiring.
• Develop engineering design documentation such as technical evaluations, calculations, specifications, and obsolete parts equivalencies.
• Evaluate and apply standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria to support protected and compliant electrical designs.
• Use engineering software tools such as ETAP, Mathcad, Maximo, or equivalent, and learn new tools.
• Work with internal engineering and project teams to obtain information, coordinate work, and meet schedule requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with electrical system design including load flow studies, short circuit analysis, protective relay settings, instrumentation and controls, and system wiring.
• Knowledge of power plant systems and equipment.
• Experience developing procurement specifications, reviewing supplier proposals, and supporting operating plants with engineering documentation.

Salary

Base salary range: $86,800 to $108,500 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills.
