Applications Support Senior Analyst Assistant Vice President

The Applications Support Senior Analyst within Fixed Income Financial & Securitization (F&S) organization is responsible for production support of multiple applications used across Fixed Income F&S business at Citi. This role provides day‑to‑day availability and communicates status updates to business users while working on project tasks that improve system stability, efficiency, and effectiveness.

The Analyst works closely with teams in Mississauga, New York, London, Belfast, Singapore, Sydney, and Hong Kong to support the 24/7 operation of Fixed Income applications. Responsibilities include incident and problem management, root‑cause analysis, escalation, prioritisation, capacity planning, resiliency/failover projects, and monitoring enhancements via SRE and JIRA. The role also performs change management, application deployment, and onboarding of new application components.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for mission‑critical F&S applications, delivering quick resolutions to application issues.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to determine strategy, set priorities, and communicate progress.
• Develop technical solutions to streamline, automate processes, and implement smart monitoring.
• Offer technical application support and respond to queries through phone, email, and other communication channels.
• Maintain in‑depth knowledge of the applications and their upstream/downstream dependencies.
• Diagnose problems and resolve them according to SLA, following agreed format and logs.
• Provide technical recommendations for major issues based on system knowledge.
• Communicate status updates with business support, regional colleagues, and development teams.
• Create and maintain a knowledge base, facilitating knowledge transfer within the team and with business support.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in an Application Support role.
• Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications.
• Knowledge of Python, Shell scripting, Linux, SQL, and ECS is desirable.
• Strong execution skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain technical issues in simple terms.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with issue‑tracking and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with problem‑management tools and all‑round technical skills.
• Effective teamwork and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to plan and organise workloads.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
