The course will focus on anti-oppressive theoretical perspectives, laws, actions, advocacy, social work ethics and their application to social work practice and policy.The semester class period is from September 1, 2026 – December 22, 2026 and the final exam period is from Dec. 9, 2026 – Dec. 22, 2026.Sessional Lecturers that are teaching remote delivery classes are expected to teach 13 synchronous classes throughout the semester.Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren’t limited to, the following: Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades by the required deadline. Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines. Delivering 13 lectures throughout the semester. Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment. Providing regular support to students on course work during office hours, and as required by students. Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student- related matters as needed. Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work HoursThis course is offered on Wednesday’s 2:30 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. The Sessional Lecturer is expected to teach remote delivery via Zoom (synchronous) for each of the 13 lectures, be in the Zoom room 10-15 minutes before each class starts, as well as offer regular office hours for their students each week.Delivery method, days and times are subject to change.
