Project Manager - Power Delivery

Stantec is seeking a Project Manager for power delivery projects in British Columbia. Use project management to successfully deliver utility client projects in distribution, transmission, substation design, upgrade, conversion and expansion.

Your Opportunity

Coordinate and lead projects, manage scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk while collaborating with multidisciplinary technical staff.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage new and existing projects, driving them from pursuit through closeout.
• Engage with internal staff at all levels and external clients, agencies and vendors.
• Establish project objectives, procedures and performance standards with discipline leads.
• Resolve project delivery issues, manage contracts, track costs, schedule and budgets.
• Provide guidance, training and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers and designers.
• Facilitate project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain and enhance Stantec’s reputation as an outstanding service provider.

Qualifications

• Strong project management skills from organization to execution and closeout.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in engineering, design, or delivery of transmission, distribution or substation upgrade, expansion or conversion projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Sciences preferred; Professional Engineering licence (P.Eng) advantageous.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with Earned‑Value Management, cost and schedule variance analysis.
• Knowledge of Energy sector – transmission, distribution, substation design and operation.
• Familiarity with BC Hydro project delivery practices, Passport and DAD systems considered assets.
• Travel to other offices and project sites required.

Education and Experience

Minimum five years of relevant project management experience, a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Sciences, and desirable professional credentials such as a P.Eng licence or PMP certification.

Pay Range

Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario: $78,900 – $114,400 annually.
