Nanny Wanted - Looking For Part Time Sitter

Overview: Our loving family is a seeking a part-time nanny for our two girls -- a 4-year-old and a 19-month-old. What we're looking for: A dedicated, reliable, energetic and skilled nanny/sitter available generally one evening per week from 5-9 pm and on occasional weekend days/nights. (Flexible position) Job Location: We're located in a home in the South End of Halifax, near Saint Mary's University and very close to bus lines, walkable to downtown, with parking available. We have no pets. Start date: Anytime. We are offering:

Duties include:

CHILDCARE:

• Provision of a fun, safe, interactive, and educational environment for our children. This includes time outdoors, reading books, supervising crafts, playing games, and overseeing independent play.
• Taking the children on outings (hikes, library, museum, playground, playgroups, etc.), and to scheduled activities, including lessons outside the home.
• Occasional preschool drop-off and pick-up (15-minute walk with stroller or can use our vehicle).
• Help with bedtime (bath, etc.)

HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT:

• Keep the childrens' areas neat and tidy.
• Assist with household laundry, light housekeeping and healthy meal preparation. Generally, this would include making something for the kids after they are in bed (from 8-9 pm on weeknights).
• Occasional grocery runs.

Nanny Qualifications/Skills:

• Creating a safe, nurturing environment
• Engaging
• Child-focused
• Compassionate
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to prepare healthy meals with attention to allergens (children have allergies)
• Second language strongly preferred, preferably Spanish-speaking
• Ability to drive is not necessary, but helpful

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Must be over 18 years old
• High School Diploma or GED preferred, ECE preferred
• Infant and child CPR (within 6-12 months of hire)
• Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector
• Strong references
