Incyte Canada is advancing its ambition in dermatology, inflammation and autoimmune diseases. Bringing that ambition to life requires medical leaders who understand the science, recognize the questions that matter in clinical practice, and bring people together to pursue answers.
Why this role matters
You will join a growing organization where your perspective will influence both strategy and execution. From defining medical priorities to engaging clinical experts, developing evidence, and supporting launch readiness, you will have the opportunity to contribute across the medicine lifecycle.
The scope calls for a leader who can set direction and stay close to the work. Someone who brings scientific credibility, sound judgment, and the initiative to build programs that respond to real needs. Depending on organizational needs, the role may also include leadership and management of a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team.
What You Will Shape
- Our medical direction: Develop and execute strategic medical plans that reflect Canadian clinical needs, emerging science, and the opportunities within our portfolio.
- Our scientific partnerships: Build sustained relationships with healthcare professionals, researchers, and clinical experts, creating meaningful exchanges that inform our priorities.
- Our evidence base: Lead the execution of company-sponsored and investigator-sponsored studies, working with relevant teams to address important evidence gaps.
- Our readiness for growth: Support marketed medicines and pipeline assets through medical education, evidence generation, and cross-functional planning.
- Our medical capabilities: Provide guidance to MSL colleagues and, where applicable, lead and develop the team.
How You Will Make An Impact
Lead with scientific depth and a clear medical perspective
- Build and maintain expertise in the assigned therapeutic areas, including disease landscapes, treatment options, Incyte medicines and pipeline assets, reimbursement environments, and emerging research.

- Contribute the medical perspective to cross-functional brand planning while maintaining scientific integrity and the independence of medical decision-making.
- Provide medical leadership for training and educational initiatives.
- Contribute scientific and clinical expertise to Market Access submissions and value dossiers.
Create meaningful scientific engagement
- Lead medical and scientific exchanges with healthcare professionals, researchers, and clinical experts.
- Develop medical education programs and scientific communication materials that address relevant knowledge gaps.
- Oversee medical congress planning and related scientific communication activities.
- Lead advisory boards, investigator meetings, and other scientific engagement activities.
- Lead the medical review of promotional and non-promotional materials.
- Ensure unsolicited medical information requests about Incyte medicines and pipeline assets are appropriately answered and documented.
Advance research and work across the organization
- Lead the execution of company-sponsored and investigator-sponsored studies in collaboration with relevant local and global teams.
- Support local Special Access Programs.
- Partner closely with Clinical Development, Global Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Marketing, and Sales.

- Model Incyte’s values and ensure all activities meet applicable regulatory, legal, and company requirements.
The Experience You Bring
- An MD, PharmD, or PhD in a life sciences discipline is preferred.
- At least 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Affairs or related roles, including at least five to seven years in dermatology, inflammation, and/or autoimmune diseases.
- A strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare and reimbursement landscape.
- Proven leadership and people-management experience.
- The ability to turn complex scientific information into clear priorities and effective action.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, strong business acumen, and the judgment to navigate a broad, evolving remit.
- A record of bringing fresh ideas, challenging assumptions constructively, and building productive partnerships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English and French is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to travel up to 50% of working time.
How We Work
At Incyte, we follow the science and stay with the challenge. Our Solve On philosophy reflects the persistence, curiosity, and responsibility needed to pursue answers for patients with serious unmet needs.
In Canada, you will work with a close-knit team that shares insight openly and brings different disciplines together to move forward. We value leaders who can build while delivering: people who set a clear direction, take ownership, and remain engaged in the details that determine success.
If you are energized by the opportunity to shape a medical organization, strengthen scientific partnerships, and help a growing portfolio realize its potential, we would like to hear from you.
