The Director, Pharmacy Operations – Specialty Pharmacy is responsible for leading and optimizing the operations of specialty pharmacy services. This role ensures regulatory compliance, operational excellence, financial performance, and high-quality patient care. The Director collaborates with cross functional teams to enhance workflow efficiencies, improve patient outcomes, and drive strategic initiatives aligned with business goals.

Your Mission:

Strategic & Operational Leadership:


  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for specialty pharmacy operations, aligning with organizational goals and industry trends.

  • Drive operational efficiencies through process standardization, automation, and technology integration.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Establish, monitor, and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and service excellence.

  • Identify opportunities for expansion, innovation, and competitive differentiation.

Regulatory & Compliance:


  • Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and industry regulations, including HIPAA, FDA, DEA, and accreditation standards (e.g., URAC, ACHC, or CPPA).

  • Maintain proper licensure and adherence to all pharmacy laws and regulations.

  • Partner with compliance teams to implement risk mitigation strategies.

Financial & Business Performance:


  • Develop and manage operational budgets, forecasting, and financial analysis to optimize profitability.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive initiatives to enhance revenue streams.

  • Collaborate with leadership to support business growth, market expansion, and payer contract negotiations.

Patient & Provider Engagement:


  • Champion patient-centric care models that enhance medication adherence, clinical outcomes, and overall patient experience.

  • Establish strong partnerships with providers, manufacturers, and payers to enhance specialty pharmacy offerings.

  • Develop and implement innovative patient support programs to drive engagement and long term health outcomes.

Leadership Responsibilities:


  • Provides clear direction, sets measurable goals, and holds team members accountable for performance and results.

  • Coaches, develops, and supports team members through regular feedback, performance reviews, and career development planning.

  • Fosters a high-performing, inclusive team culture that aligns with company values and business objectives.

What You Bring to the Table:

Education:


  • Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required. Advanced degrees (MBA, MHA) preferred.

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing.

Experience:


  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in specialty pharmacy or healthcare operations.

  • Strong understanding of specialty medications, reimbursement models, and payer relationships.

  • Experience with accreditation processes and specialty pharmacy regulatory requirements.

  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.

Skills:


  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and strategic thinking abilities

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and operational analytics.

  • English proficiency is required for this position to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Bilingualism (French and English) may be required depending on the specific role, location, and the needs of the organization.

Compensation: At BioScript, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location.

Votre mission  

Stratégie et direction  


  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre une feuille de route stratégique pour les activités de pharmacie spécialisée, en accord avec les objectifs de l’organisation et les tendances du secteur.  


  • Améliorer l’efficacité opérationnelle grâce à la normalisation des processus, à l’automatisation et à l’intégration technologique.  


  • Mener des initiatives d’amélioration continue visant à renforcer la qualité, la sécurité et la rentabilité.  


  • Définir, suivre et optimiser les indicateurs de rendement clés (KPI) afin de mesurer la réussite opérationnelle et l’excellence du service.  


  • Trouver les occasions d’expansion, d’innovation et de différenciation concurrentielle.  

Réglementation et conformité  


  • Veiller au respect des réglementations fédérales, régionales (États/provinces) et sectorielles, notamment celles relatives à la HIPAA, à la FDA, à la DEA, ainsi qu’aux normes d’agrément (par exemple, URAC, ACHC ou CPPA).  


  • Veiller à toujours posséder un droit d’exercice en vigueur et respecter l’ensemble des lois et la réglementation en matière de pharmacie.  


  • Collaborer avec les équipes responsables de la conformité pour mettre en œuvre des stratégies d’atténuation des risques.  

Rendement financier et opérationnel  


  • Élaborer et gérer les budgets d’exploitation, les prévisions et les analyses financières afin d’optimiser la rentabilité.  


  • Définir les occasions de réduction des coûts et mettre en œuvre des initiatives visant à accroître les sources de revenus.  


  • Collaborer avec la direction pour soutenir la croissance de l’entreprise, l’expansion sur les marchés et les négociations de contrats avec les payeurs.  

Mobilisation des patients et des fournisseurs  


  • Promouvoir des modèles de soins axés sur le patient qui améliorent l’observance thérapeutique, les résultats cliniques et l’expérience globale du patient.  


  • Établir des partenariats solides avec les fournisseurs, les fabricants et les payeurs afin d’améliorer l’offre des pharmacies spécialisées.  


  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des programmes de soutien aux patients innovants afin de favoriser la mobilisation et les résultats de santé à long terme.  

Responsabilités de leadership  


  • Offrir une orientation claire, établir des objectifs mesurables et tenir les membres de l’équipe responsables de leur rendement et de leurs résultats.  


  • Encadrer, former, et soutenir les membres de l’équipe par l’entremise de rétroaction régulière, d’évaluations du rendement, et de planification du perfectionnement professionnel.  


  • Favoriser une culture d’équipe inclusive axée sur le rendement qui correspond aux valeurs et aux objectifs de l’entreprise.  

L’expérience que vous apportez  

Formation  


  • Avoir un baccalauréat ou un doctorat en pharmacie (PharmD) est requis. Avoir un diplôme d’études supérieures (maîtrise en administration des affaires, maîtrise en gestion des services de santé) est souhaité.  


  • Posséder un permis d’exercice en vigueur est requis.  

Expérience  


  • Avoir plus de sept ans d’expérience progressive dans la gestion de pharmacies spécialisées ou des activités de soins de santé.  


  • Posséder une excellente connaissance des médicaments de spécialité, des modèles de remboursement et des relations avec les payeurs.  


  • Avoir de l’expérience avec les processus d’agrément et les exigences réglementaires applicables aux pharmacies spécialisées.  


  • Posséder un sens aigu des finances et expérience en matière d’établissement de budget, de prévisions et de gestion des profits et des pertes.  

Aptitudes  


  • Avoir de solides compétences en matière de direction, de prise de décision et de réflexion stratégique  


  • Avoir d’excellentes compétences en matière de communication et de gestion des parties prenantes.  


  • Posséder une bonne maîtrise des systèmes de gestion pharmaceutique et de l’analyse opérationnelle.  


  • Avoir une bonne maîtrise de l’anglais est nécessaire dans le cadre de ce poste afin de communiquer efficacement avec les parties prenantes internes et externes.  


  • Être bilingue (français et anglais) peut être nécessaire selon le rôle, l’emplacement et les besoins précis de l’entreprise.  

Rémunération : Chez BioScript, votre salaire de base ne constitue qu’une partie de votre rémunération totale et est déterminé en fonction d’une échelle. Nos échelles salariales sont calculées selon les valeurs de référence locales en matière de coût de la main-d’œuvre propre à chaque poste, chaque niveau de poste et chaque emplacement géographique.
