The Asset Management Business Analyst is responsible for coordinating the collection and analysis of asset data, enhancing and documenting workflows, contributing to the development of corporate standards, and supporting the integration of the organization's asset management policy and strategy. Reporting to the Manager of Asset Management, the primary responsibilities of this role include: Supporting department managers in the delivery of AM projects and initiatives to advance the AM strategy acrossthe organization. Working with the Manager of Asset Management in developing and implementing AM standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and alignment with best practices. Assisting with the integration of Tangible Capital Assets (TCA) and Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO) with accounting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and AM systems to establish a single source record. Coordinating the collection, storage and interpretation of AM data from internal and external sources. Assessing asset inventory, identifying gaps and needs to build a comprehensive corporate asset inventory. Assisting in developing a corporate-wide workflow template which will be used in the corporate computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Reviewing and evaluating existing department's workflows and processes, and designs improved future-state workflows to enhance operational efficiency. Examining CVRD's internal and external environments to inform decision-making and AM strategy implementation. Provides ongoing support for the organization's AM strategy through data analysis, and data standardization efforts. Assisting in developing and delivering AM training frameworks to support internal capacity building. Analyzing AM data, business processes, workflows and performance measures, providing recommendations for continuous improvement. Assisting in preparing progress reports on the AM Program, ensuring transparency and accountability. Developing AM report cards and dashboards using Power BI. Ensure related data is relevant and accurate. Providing guidance and support to departments for service delivery; including, but not limited to, formal inspection and condition ratings, annual preventative maintenance programs, risk and condition assessment, levels of service, AM plans, capital planning, and documented processes. Is detail-oriented and skilled in gathering, organizing, and interpreting data from diverse sources to support informed decision-making. Demonstrates analytical thinking in assessing asset inventories and proactively identifying data gaps to build a complete corporate asset register. Understands workflow optimization and contributes to the development of standardized processes for a corporate CMMS. Has a process-improvement mindset, capable of evaluating and redesigning workflows to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Uses data and research to assess internal and external trends, offering valuable insights to inform AM strategies and implementation. Is passionate about knowledge-sharing and contributes to internal capacity building through training and documentation. Brings a strategic approach to analyzing AM data and business processes, offering actionable recommendations for operational improvements. Communicates effectively and helps prepare clear, meaningful reports that track AM program progress and outcomes. Has experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI to develop insightful dashboards and performance scorecards. Provides practical guidance to departments on asset-related functions such as inspections, condition assessments, maintenance planning, and capital forecasting. Educated at the post-secondary level with an undergraduate degree specializing in sustainability, engineering, financial planning or similar and a minimum of over three and up to four years' related experience preferably in local government, risk or asset management function. An advanced user of Microsoft Office and proficient in Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint applications and Microsoft Power BI tools. Certification or training in Asset and or project management A valid BC Class 5 driver's license is required for this role.
