Job Overview

If you’re a Journeyperson Electrician who enjoys solving problems, working with your hands, and taking on challenging field work, this role puts you right where the action is. You’ll work on some of the largest equipment in the world, travel to different sites, and tackle electrical work that keeps major operations running. With a 7x7 schedule, strong premiums, and the chance to work with a skilled field services team, this is a great opportunity for someone who wants variety, independence, and the satisfaction of seeing their work make an immediate impact.

Reports to: General Supervisor, Field Services

Shift: 7x7- 12h per shift, rotation between days and nights

Term: 1 Year Contract

Allowances: Additional premiums and allowances are associated with this position due to location

Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required

Travel: up to 25% within Canada and the USA

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specs for industrial installations
• Wire, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems using detailed electrical drawings
• Test electrical and electronic components for continuity, voltage, current, and resistance
• Install, maintain, and repair motors, generators, alternators, industrial batteries, and hydraulic/pneumatic control systems
• Work on industrial electrical and electronic control systems and related equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and keep accurate records
• Maintain quality standards and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements
• Participate in the on‑call rotation as needed

Qualifications/Requirements

• Journeyperson Electrician Certificate (Red Seal preferred)
• Basic knowledge of PLC controls and wiring
• Strong understanding of electrical theory and rig‑specific power wiring
• Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to make sound decisions in the field
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
• Willingness to travel and spend time away from home when required
• Valid Alberta Driver’s License
• Must have no restrictions for access for any mine site
