CNC Machinist / Programmer - Night Shift

About the Role:

Our company is seeking a CNC Machinist – Lathe Programmer / Set Up / Operator to join our Machining Department. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Mazak CNC lathes to produce high-precision components that meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and production targets.

This position is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented machinist who is comfortable working independently, takes pride in precision work, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Day shift for training (6:45am – 5:00pm, Mon–Thurs, 10hr shifts). Transition to night shift (4:30pm - 2:45am, Mon - Thurs, 10 hr shifts).

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate Mazak CNC lathe machines using Mazatrol programming
• Machine precision components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
• Load, secure, and stage raw materials and finished parts
• Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as required to maintain quality
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation
• Label and stage completed parts for the next operation
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
• Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures
• Participate in safety meetings and actively contribute to a strong safety culture

Qualifications

• Mazatrol programming experience 
• Journeyperson or Red Seal CNC Machinist certification preferred
• GibbsCAM experience an asset
• Milling experience an asset
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Safety-conscious and  team-oriented
• Ability to learn and expand programming and machine knowledge
