Summer Activities Programmers

Family Futures Resource Network is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build on the strengths of individuals and families through connection, support, and education. We are looking for positive and energetic role models who want to make a difference in the lives of children.

The incumbents will be assigned to variety of summer programming which may include summer camps with children 6 - 11 years of age, community playground activities for children birth - 12 years and their caregivers or youth 13 - 18 years as well as half day multi-sport camps. They will develop program facilitation and community building skills in a supportive team environment. The candidates may also be required to cover other programs as needed. Orientation and training will occur in June.

This position is ideal for students enrolled in child and youth care, early learning and childcare, human ecology, education, recreation, psychology, and social work.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Access to a reliable vehicle as travel between sites is required
• Experience working with children
• First Aid Certificate an asset
• A recent Police Information Security Check and Alberta Children's Services Intervention Check
• Group facilitation experience and classroom management skills are an asset
• Outdoor program facilitation experience is an asset

Hours of Work

· Most summer program hours are between 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

· Flexible schedule required - Evening and weekend work may be necessary

· No vacation days during the above term; staff must work the entire length to be considered for the position

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contractContract length: 3 months

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
