Data Migration Lead

Job Summary

SE Health is seeking an experienced Data Migration Lead to oversee the end-to-end migration of operational, clinical, financial, scheduling, payroll, and customer data from legacy source systems to AlayaCare as part of the Reimagining Care at Home (RCH) transformation program.

The Data Migration Lead will be accountable for developing and executing the migration strategy, governing data quality activities, coordinating business and technical stakeholders, and ensuring successful delivery of multiple migration waves leading to production cutover. This role requires a combination of project management, data governance, healthcare data governance knowledge, and hands-on migration leadership experience.

The successful candidate will work closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, vendor, technical teams, and implementation partners to ensure migration activities support operational readiness and business continuity.

Duration: 18-month contract

Key Responsibilities

Migration Strategy and Planning

• Develop and maintain the overall migration strategy, roadmap, and execution plan in collaboration with the RCH senior project manager as part of the broader program plan.
• Establish migration governance, decision-making processes, escalation paths, and reporting mechanisms.
• Define migration objectives, success criteria, acceptance criteria, and quality thresholds.
• Develop detailed migration schedules aligned to overall program milestones and site deployment waves.
• Identify migration risks, dependencies, assumptions, and mitigation plans. 
  

Data Discovery and Assessment

• Lead data discovery activities across source systems.
• Assess source data quality, completeness, consistency, and readiness for migration.
• Identify data cleansing, remediation, archival, and retention requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define migration scope and priorities.
• Document source-to-target mappings and transformation rules.

Data Governance and Quality

• Establish data quality standards and migration controls.
• Lead data validation and reconciliation activities.
• Define and track migration quality metrics and KPIs.
• Coordinate business sign-off processes for data quality and migration readiness.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, privacy requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Migration Execution

• Coordinate development of migration extracts, transformation logic, loading processes, and migration tooling.
• Manage multiple migration cycles, including mock conversions, test migrations, dress rehearsals, and production migrations.
• Oversee issue identification, triage, resolution, and defect management.
• Ensure migration activities are completed according to schedule and quality standards.
• Coordinate migration activities across implementation vendors, internal teams, and business stakeholders.

Business Engagement

• Act as the primary point of accountability for migration activities across the program.
• Facilitate workshops with operational, clinical, finance, HR, payroll, scheduling, and reporting teams.
• Translate business requirements into migration plans and technical deliverables.
• Prepare executive updates, governance materials, decision papers, and status reports.
• Present migration progress, risks, and recommendations to program leadership.

Testing and Cutover Readiness

• Develop migration testing and validation strategies.
• Coordinate user validation sessions and business acceptance activities.
• Establish reconciliation processes to verify migration completeness and accuracy.
• Lead migration readiness reviews and cutover planning activities.
• Support go-live and hypercare activities during deployment waves.

Vendor and Partner Management

• Coordinate migration-related activities with AlayaCare and implementation partners.
• Review vendor deliverables and ensure alignment with migration requirements.
• Manage migration-related dependencies across vendors and workstreams.
• Escalate issues and risks impacting delivery, quality, or schedule. 
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering large-scale enterprise data migration programs.
• 5+ years in a dedicated Data Migration Lead, Data Conversion Lead, or Migration Project Manager role.
• Demonstrated experience leading migrations for enterprise SaaS or healthcare platforms.
• Experience migrating data between complex operational systems.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality management, data mapping and transformation, reconciliation, cutover planning, and program delivery.
• Experience managing vendor and implementation partner relationships.
• Exceptional internal stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex transformation programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Procura migrations.
• Experience with AlayaCare implementations or migrations.
• Experience within healthcare, home care, community care, seniors living, or related sectors.
• Familiarity with clinical, scheduling, workforce management, payroll, billing, CRM, and client-management data.
• Knowledge of healthcare privacy, security, records-retention, and regulatory requirements.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, Prosci, CBIP, CDMP, or equivalent certification.
