Health Records Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager - Health Records, Central Registration and Privacy Officer, this position is accountable to perform health record technician functions in accordance with legislative requirements policy, recognized procedures and established health records standards.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

• Diploma in Health Informati on Management
• Certification in Health Information Management with the Canadian Health Information Management Association
• Experience with health records practices and procedures

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to contribute as an effective team member and to work independently
• Demonstrated accuracy, organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records, actions and information
• Ability to interpret policy and legislation to respond to access and release of information
• Must be proficient using Microsoft applications Word, Excel, Outlook
• Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Asset:

• Knowledge of Meditech ADM, MRI, CWS, Archiving and Scanning Modules

Conditions of Employment:

• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
