Business Data Analyst - SQL/ Data Warehousing (Banking)

Role: Business Data Analyst – SQL/ Data Warehousing (Banking)

MUST HAVE Skills:

• Strong knowledge of PL SQL / T-SQL

• Experience in Data Modelling (any designer tool), Gap analysis, and MS Visio

• Good understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and ETL processes

• Experience in driving requirement sessions/meetings with stakeholders

• Strong knowledge of SQL for data analysis and data profiling across legacy systems

NICE TO HAVE Skills:

• Knowledge of Banking domain (accounts, customer data, transaction data)

• Experience with Sybase PowerDesigner for data modeling

• Knowledge of Cloud technologies (AWS preferred)

Key Responsibilities: Analyze Legacy System

• Analyze mapping documents of target tables to determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements

• Track target field mapping back to origin data elements in source systems

• Perform data analysis and profiling across different legacy systems using SQL

• Document source-to-target data flow including:

• Business transformation rules
  
• Key cutting / surrogate key logic
  

• Reference data usage for enrichment
  

  • Extract business rules from code when mapping documents are not available
  

L2 / L3 Model Responsibilities:

• Support creation of L2 model with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and stakeholders

• Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and IT teams to integrate L2/L3 models into pipelines

Mapping Design of New L2/L3:

• Prepare technical design and data movement mapping for L2 model

• Review and validate key cutting process with L2 schema owners

• Ensure BORT system data is loaded into L2 schema

• Define L2 to L3 transformation rules

• Implement custom surrogate key processes on L3 tables

• Handle one-off system data loads into L3 schema

• Collaborate on data governance and data quality frameworks

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and reduce data security risks

General Responsibilities:

• Define operational objectives by studying business functions and requirements

• Design and analyze requirements and system modifications

• Define project requirements, milestones, and deliverables

• Track project progress and publish status reports

• Maintain mapping documentation for users

• Ensure confidentiality of operational data

• Participate in workshops and continuous learning

• Support intake requests for new projects and changes

• Work closely with business and technology teams for data needs

• Prepare technical design documentation as per standards
