Account Manager/Business Development

Position Overview

The VS Group is seeking a highly motivated and strategically minded Account Manager / Business Development to oversee client acquisition, service expansion, project execution, and internal operational efficiency across all five core divisions: VS Marketing & Communication, VS Accounting & Consulting, VS Bookkeeping & Payroll Services, VS Municipal Solutions, and VS Technologies.

This hybrid leadership role merges growth strategy with operational oversight—driving business development while optimizing internal project delivery. The ideal candidate is both entrepreneurial and structured, capable of forging new relationships and scaling services while ensuring staff efficiency, project health, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

• Develop and execute business growth strategies tailored to each division's objectives.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities via networking, partnerships, outbound outreach, and RFP responses.
• Lead the development of tailored proposals, presentations, and sales materials across diverse sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and industry partners.
• Track pipeline activities and performance metrics using CRM and sales tools.
• Represent the VS Group at industry events to elevate visibility and generate leads.
• Collaborate with division leads and marketing teams to sharpen go-to-market strategies and service offerings.

Project & Operations Management

• Oversee day-to-day project execution from initiation to delivery across branding, digital, and marketing projects.
• Manage timelines, scopes, resources, and deliverables to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Implement tools and processes to track task progress, time usage, and project health.
• Monitor team workloads and reassign resources to balance productivity and prevent burnout.
• Identify workflow improvements and contribute to SOP and process documentation.
• Support onboarding of staff in project systems, tools, and best practices.

Staff & Client Coordination

• Facilitate internal check-ins, cross-functional meetings, and performance reviews.
• Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring deliverables align with client needs and expectations.
• Provide regular project status reports and help maintain strong client relationships without being the primary client strategist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (MBA or Project Management Certification considered an asset).
• 5+ years of experience in business development, project/account management, or operations within a B2B services or agency setting.
• Demonstrated success in both generating new business and managing complex projects across multiple departments.
• Experience with team leadership, efficiency tracking, and performance optimization.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with CRM, task management platforms, and reporting tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
