The Supervisor GDS Revenue provides leadership and support to the GDS revenue group and it's members, while leading the group in fulfilling accounting, reporting, planning, analysis and SOX compliance activities on a recurring and ad-hoc basis for all GDS Revenue streams.

*Note: This role is available to work out of either our North York or Chatham Ontario office.

What You Will Do:

• Provide direct people leadership oversight to members of the GDS Revenue team to achieve goals and objectives, through coaching, cross training and operational improvement opportunities

• Supports / co-ordinates the month-end/year-end close processes within the GDS Revenue team and ensures compliance with key controls

• Review and approval of journal entries, reports, and reconciliations, related to month-end and year-end close processes

• Supports and co-ordinates the development of annual Budgets/Forecasts for the various GDS Revenue streams, ensuring alignment with operational policies and practices

• Reviews / co-ordinates the preparation of the required regulatory evidence for rate rebasing, deferral dispositions, ad-hoc information requests for proceeding support and interrogatories

• Supports the development of and reviews analysis / management reporting driving business decisions, on a periodic and ad-hoc basis

• Liaises internally with subject matter experts, and other stakeholder groups and clients within and outside of Finance, as well as internal/external auditors

• Develop & foster relationships with key internal clients and peers.

• Co-ordinates issue briefs and accounting position papers related to GDS Revenue accountabilities

Who You Are:

Required:

• Related University Degree (Business or Accounting preferred)

• Accounting Designation or Relevant Post-graduate Degree

• 7+ years of experience in a finance/accounting role or other relevant experience

• Ability to organize work, set priorities and meet deadlines.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must possess strong leadership skills.

• Great teammate, results oriented and attentive to details

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Willing to work under pressure and some overtime to meet tight reporting deadlines

• Experience with prioritizing work and implementing processes and ongoing process improvements to streamline and optimize work

• Superior computer skills including knowledge and experience with the following programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat

Preferred:

• In-depth understanding of EGI's GDS business and the overall natural gas industry

• Cost of Gas, Regulatory Accounting, Financial Forecast/Reporting, Regulatory Affairs, Gas Supply, Capacity Management, Gas Management knowledge considered an asset

Working Conditions:

• Office environment; some travel to other offices with direct reports

• May be required to work overtime during peak periods

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
