Description

The GTT Unit Manager regulates and supervises the terminal with Ground Transportation and Linehaul activities. The Unit Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of a medium sized terminal which is measured by the following KPI's: Safety, Productivity, Service and Revenue.

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of unionized employees specifically Linehaul Drivers
• Create a positive work environment, building employee loyalty and a team atmosphere
• Responsible for achieving objectives as outlined in the operational scorecard within the GTT linehaul operations
• Responsible for managing performance of employees as per operational standards and indices within the GTT linehaul operations
• Improve operational standards through reviews of employee performance, coaching, counseling and recognition
• Responsible for communicating and implementing policy, procedure or programs
• Responsible for completing a variety of reports and documents
• All other related and assigned duties

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of AZ/Tractor-Trailer regulations, laws and industry practices
• Operational experience in the transportation/logistics industry
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience managing large unionized teams

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.

Location: 115 Carrier Drive, Etobicoke

Hours of Work: Sunday: 12pm-8pm, Mon-Thurs: 4pm-12am
Working Conditions: Office Environment; On the Road; Warehouse Environment
