Work Term: 2-month casual contract (potential for extension)

Inspire young people to discover their potential in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math (STEAM) and Trades! YukonU is looking for an enthusiastic part-time program assistant to support our work with youth ages 6-19 in both indoor & outdoor experiential settings. Working alongside the Youth STEAM Coordinator(s), you will assist with program planning and management, as well as deliver safe and enriching STEAM programming.
Most of the work will be completed in Whitehorse at the YukonU Ayamdigut campus, with some travel to Yukon communities. We are looking for applicants who are:
- Comfortable and confident developing and delivering STEAM-themed activities for youth
- Interested in working “behind the scenes” - supporting with planning, packing, paperwork, and reporting
- Eager to work with partners in and travel to communities around the Territory
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working with youth in any of the following disciplines: Sciences, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Education, Computer Sciences, Trades;
- Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license;
- A vulnerable sector check and completion of Standard First Aid will be required upon hire.
