Thanks for clicking on our posting! We are a growing business looking for an enthusiastic and creative “go getter" to join our team here at The Sheldon Creek Farm Store as our Assistant Retail Store Manager

Our Farm Store is located in Loretto Ontario. We are building a destination with a new kids' play area, patio, and music area to attract customers to come to the farm store to enjoy. As the Sheldon Creek Farm Assistant Store Manager, you will be a part of the retail management team that helps maintain and supervise the overall experience at Sheldon Creek Farm Store.

As an Assistant Retail Manager with responsibilities in product management, inventory, merchandising, special order menus for holidays, and event assistance, your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the retail environment. Here's a breakdown of the key aspects of your position:

1. Product Management:

• Vendor Relations: Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective product deliveries.
• Product Selection: Collaborate with the store manager to curate an appealing product selection that aligns with customer preferences and market trends.
• Pricing Strategies: Assist in setting competitive prices and implementing promotional strategies to drive sales.

2. Inventory Management:

• Stock Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent overstock or stockouts. Implement efficient restocking procedures.
• Inventory Analysis: Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify slow-moving items, manage shelf life, and minimize wastage.
• Ordering and Receiving: Place orders with suppliers, coordinate deliveries and verify received shipments for accuracy.

3. Merchandising:

• Store Layout: Contribute to the development and maintenance of an attractive store layout that enhances the customer shopping experience.
• Visual Merchandising: Work with the visual merchandising team to create eye-catching displays that promote featured products and drive sales.
• Promotions and Displays: Implement promotional displays for new products, seasonal items, and special offers.

4. Special Order Menus for Holidays:

• Menu Planning: Collaborate with the retail management team to plan and create special order menus for holidays and events.
• Order Fulfillment: Ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of special orders, coordinating with vendors and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Marketing: Develop marketing strategies to promote holiday menus and attract customers for special occasions.

5. Event Assistance:

• Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating in-store events, product launches, and promotions.
• Customer Engagement: Interact with customers addressing inquiries, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from events to assess their success and identify areas for improvement.

6. Schedule:

• Full-Time Position: Adhere to a full-time work schedule to meet the demands of the retail operation.
• Mondays and Saturdays Off: Enjoy a consistent schedule with designated days off for a healthy work-life balance.

Skills and Qualities:

• Organizational Skills: Manage multiple tasks efficiently, keeping track of inventory, orders, and events.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, vendors, and customers.

Experience:- Previous experience in a retail management role preferred- Strong organizational and time management skills- Excellent math skills for cash handling and inventory management- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff, and vendors- Experience conducting interviews and hiring new employees- Proficiency in administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and record keeping- Multilingual skills are a plus, especially if serving a diverse customer base

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
