Responsibilities
- Leads and inspires the dock team to achieve operational goals and KPIs
- Promotes and fosters a strong Employee Health and Safety culture
- Processes all inbound loads from various origins and P&D terminal in a timely basis
- Ensures all outbound loads depart on time and full as per network schedule
- Drives revenue growth through accessorial/cubing/reweigh activities
- Maintains appropriate staffing/equipment levels that are aligned with volumes and budget
- Provides daily accurate reporting of KPIs and activities
- Monitors and checks dock processes frequently to ensure quality and compliance
- Delivers strong effective communication to the dock team
- Mentors, coaches and develops their supervisors for growth opportunities
- Coordinates building and yard maintenance
- Collaborates with other departments in the spirit of continuous improvement
- Complies with all Corporate policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of transportation and management experience; College or University Degree preferred
- LTL experience an asset
- Managing in a union environment an asset
- Knowledge of GTA would be an asset
- Demonstrates the ability to adapt well to change
- Excellent practical approach to problem solving
- Customer service oriented
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Possesses exceptional personal integrity and strong values
- Has the courage and conviction to do “the right thing”
- Leads by example, results driven
