Bartender/Barmaid

The Annette Wine Bar , a renowned establishment located in the heart of Montreal's gastronomic scene and nominated for the Bib Michelin for the second consecutive year, is looking to expand its team of professionals. We are committed to providing an exceptional experience that highlights local products with remarkable culinary creativity. With a comprehensive wine list and refined local cuisine, we welcome our guests in a cozy and warm atmosphere. We are seeking a passionate server who can create a unique experience for our clientele by offering attentive and high-quality service.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

PREPARATION FOR SERVICE AND SETUP

- Ensure the opening and closing of the bar

- Handle the setup (citrus, syrups, juices…)

- Monitor inventory (spirits, beers)

- Stay informed about menu changes, new items, and specials

- Ensure cleanliness of the establishment

- Prepare the point-of-sale system

CUSTOMER SERVICE/ORDER TAKING AND SERVICE OF FOOD AND DRINKS

- Identify customer expectations and constraints to plan the service flow

- Greet customers, describe the menu, and suggest options

- Engage in conversation with customers

- Take orders and communicate them to the kitchen and bar staff

- Pay special attention to allergies and ensure they are communicated clearly to the kitchen and other team members

- Coordinate the service of dishes

- Be attentive to customers' needs during the meal

- Receive and address complaints and feedback

- Serve drinks, dishes, and wines or any other ordered alcoholic beverages

- Check customer satisfaction

- Maintain and stock the bar during service, as needed

- Clear and set up the bar for the next customers

- Present the bill to customers and collect payment

- Thank and bid farewell to customers at their departure

WINE AND SPIRIT SERVICE

- Describe wines to customers

- Suggest food and wine pairings

- Take wine orders

- Conduct sensory evaluations of wines

- Serve wine to guests

Education

- Professional diploma in restaurant service (DEP) is an asset

- Certificate of specialization in sommelier (ASP) is an asset

- Any other diploma related to the restaurant and/or bar management is an asset
