Senior Accountant

Our client, a well-established organization located in the heart of Mississauga, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team for an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional with strong month-end close experience who enjoys financial reporting, process improvement, and working in a collaborative team environment.
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monthly financial close process, including the preparation and posting of journal entries
- Analyze and allocate revenue and expense transactions across various products, business units, and regions
- Prepare and maintain detailed account reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages
- Extract, organize, and analyze financial data using advanced Excel techniques
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities through the preparation of financial models and reporting templates
- Assist with tax-related reporting and data compilation as required
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information uploaded into the ERP system
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to the accounting and finance teams
Qualifications
- CPA designation (completed or in progress) is preferred
- 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a related finance function
- Strong hands-on experience with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with large datasets, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting
- Experience working with large ERP systems; exposure to platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise accounting systems is considered a strong asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work onsite in Mississauga 3 days per week
