Position: Education Assistant

Urban Academy is currently inviting a dedicated, team-oriented Educational Assistant to join our support team in Junior School for the 2026-2027 school year.

As an Education Assistant, your responsibilities include:

• Provide classroom support and small group instruction under the guidance of classroom teachers and Student Services team.

• Provide playground and classroom supervision during breaks and transitions as well as other duties assigned by the Junior School Principal

Qualifications and requirements:

• Be legally entitled to work in Canada

• EA certificate

• Have an excellent rapport with children guided by trauma-informed practices

• Related experience working in a school setting

• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Flexibility to work across a range of grades and disciplines

• Experience in using Google Suite for Education for documentation and communication, and assistive technologies to support students with accommodations

• Current Safety Awareness & First Aid for Childhood Emergencies Certificate

• Clear Criminal Records Check

Preferred qualifications, experiences, and dispositions:

• ECE or ECEA certificate

• Inclusive Education diploma

Urban Academy provides:

• Competitive compensation and annual salary ranging of $47,500 - $57,000, inclusive of vacation pay and commensurate with qualifications and years of  experience
