Empire Life is hiring a Senior Bilingual Underwriter responsible for assessing financial risk on individual life insurance applications. With over four years in individual underwriting, you will provide critical support to the Sales team while interacting with reinsurance providers. This position requires decisiveness and outstanding judgment in risk assessment with a high approval limit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess risks up to $3,000,000 for individual life policies
- Deliver sound risk decisions to Sales & Marketing teams
- Analyze financial and medical information for applications
- Coach junior underwriters on coverage decisions
- Consult with Senior Underwriters on questionable situations
Requirements
- Bilingual English/French proficiency required
- 4+ years in individual underwriting experience
- Experience in coaching or mentoring roles
- Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills
- Completion of a university degree in life sciences or related field
