Structural Engineering Student (Mississauga)

Internship Overview

Hatch is looking for a Structural Engineering Student for a 4‑month co‑op starting in September 2026. The intern will support offices globally from our Mississauga office location and provide review, analysis, design support, and research of materials for engineers and other technologists.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design calculations, material takeoff, literature review, technical specifications, and reports for energy and industrial projects.
• Use CAD tools for 2D drawing and 3D model reviews.
• Provide support for progress reporting and assessment of various ongoing engineering tasks.
• Interface with staff to support projects as necessary.
• Provide review, analysis, design support, and research of materials for engineers and other technologists.

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th year student working toward a degree in Civil Engineering at an accredited university, with a specific interest in structural analysis and design.
• Successful completion of, or enrollment in, structural engineering courses is required.
• Familiarity with CAD/Design software applications such as MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MicroStation and AutoCAD (considered an asset).
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated writing and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
• High regard for job safety and quality work; must be able to work in a team environment.
• Extracurricular involvement; enthusiastic and ambitious.

Compensation

Range: $25.00 – $33.00 per hour. Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
