The Opportunity
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support within the division. This role involves processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, managing expense reports, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices.
Responsibilities:
- Tracking and processing accounts payables and expenditures including payroll, vendor invoices, expense forms, credit card transactions, etc.
- Communicate with vendors and the AGI Purchaser to resolve any invoicing issues and ensure vendor invoices are settled within their payment terms
- Create client invoices and follow up with clients regarding any past due amounts
- Communicate with clients and the AGI sales team to resolve any invoicing issues
- Assist with period end reporting
- Reception duties including, but not limited to, answering phones, greeting clients and vendors, accepting deliveries, and preparing outgoing packages
- Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in the field of Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
- Degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
- 1-3 years' progressive experience in the accounting field preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with data entry in an office environment
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and AP/AR principles
- Strong computer skills with previous experience using an ERP system, Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
