Student Recruitment and Advising Officer

Full-Time Support Staff (10 month contract)
Reporting to the Associate Registrar, Recruitment, the Student Recruitment and Advising Officer will support students through their recruitment process and into their first year of studies with the university.
Responsibilities
- Support students through the recruitment process and into their first year of studies.
- Travel throughout Ontario to spread awareness of Nipissing University.
- Create meaningful, informative relationships and engage in correspondence and follow‑up with prospective students, current students, supporters, guidance counselors, teachers, professors, and other university representatives.
- Provide support to future and new undergraduate students in making informed decisions regarding their application and course selection for their first year.
- Attend Open House events and the Ontario Universities Fair, and work regular evening and weekend shifts as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably from Nipissing University, with additional training in advising or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to two years of relevant experience in an academic setting.
- Sales, recruitment, and liaison experience considered an asset.
- Negative Criminal Record Check prior to employment start date.
- Valid full G class Ontario driver’s license.
Benefits
This position is classified at Wage Grade 60, with a wage range from $28.70 per hour (Step 1) to $36.34 per hour (Step 9). Placement within the salary range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market conditions.
