Senior Business Analyst, Business Initiatives

Sun Life’s Insurance Distribution team is responsible for growing sales of life and health insurance. The Senior Business Analyst – Business Initiatives supports analytics and reporting, maintains business reporting through collaborative work with the Sales team and internal partners, and ensures data accuracy, integrity, and availability.

Responsibilities

• Report and analyze performance data for the Business Initiatives team, creating enhanced analytics and reporting tools.
• Monitor and resolve production data and platform issues, reconciling reporting discrepancies to minimize disruption to sales teams.
• Lead the annual sales target‑setting process in partnership with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain regional and advisor alignment on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
• Build and nurture internal relationships to resolve issues and enhance reporting and analytics.
• Plan, schedule, govern, execute, and communicate end‑to‑end project and change‑management activities.
• Apply change‑management and communication principles, including stakeholder impact capture, end‑user training, and post‑implementation monitoring.
• Facilitate workshops, manage group dynamics, and develop business requirements for enhancements or changes.
• Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
• Respond to ad‑hoc reporting requests, analyze data, present findings, and provide actionable insights to leadership.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, including persuasive presentation skills.
• Proactive, open, and direct communication with stakeholders to provide insight and recommend actions.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Strong consulting relationship building across all organizational levels.
• Workshop facilitation skills with senior leaders.
• Data presentation skills that influence and secure support for change.
• Research, problem‑solving, and analytical expertise.
• Experience balancing multiple projects and managing complex process improvement initiatives.
• Expertise in MS Excel, Wrike, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Visio.

Preferred Qualifications

• University degree in Business, Finance, Math/Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related discipline with at least 5years of progressively responsible experience.
• Experience creating Tableau dashboards.
• Working knowledge of SQL and programming languages such as Python or R.
