Cardiologist Role with Device Training
Medical Staff of Island Health
Advance your career with Island Health as a full-time Cardiologist specializing in device implantation in Nanaimo. Join a passionate team to build a new Heart Health Division. To be eligible, you must have Royal College certification and a solid foundation in cardiology. In addition to covering the coronary care unit, you’ll oversee device management in the Pacemaker Clinic. The opportunity includes further specialized training through the esteemed Royal Jubilee Hospital. Engage in academic activities with the University of British Columbia and help nurture future medical talent. Key Responsibilities:
- Cover activities in coronary care and cardiology wards
- Provide on-call cardiology support
- Lead device implantation procedures
- Manage patient care at the Pacemaker Clinic
- Participate in teaching medical learners
- Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
- Competence across all cardiology aspects
- Passion for teaching and mentoring
