Summary
Stone Tile is a growing national warehousing and distribution business focused on delivering exceptional service, operational speed, inventory accuracy and efficient warehouse execution across Canada. We operate a multi-warehouse network with a strong focus on scalable processes, accountability and continuous improvement.
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the distribution center, including inbound operations, inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, shipping, labor productivity, safety and customer service execution .This role is highly operational and requires a leader who is comfortable managing from the floor, building strong teams, solving problems in real time, and driving disciplined execution every day.
The GM will lead supervisors and frontline teams while partnering closely with inventory control, transportation, and supply chain planning teams to ensure operational excellence across the network.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day warehouse operations across receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, and returns
- Ensure daily service and productivity targets are achieved
- Monitor workflow and adjust labor/resources in real time based on volume and priorities
- Drive urgency, accountability, and execution throughout the operation
Service & Fulfillment Performance
- Ensure orders ship accurately and on time
- Maintain strong operational responsiveness for customer and priority orders
- Minimize fulfillment delays, shipping errors, and operational bottlenecks
- Partner with transportation teams to ensure smooth outbound execution
Inventory Accuracy & Warehouse Discipline
- Support and enforce inventory control processes and warehouse scanning compliance
- Partner with Inventory Control team on cycle counting, discrepancy investigations, and root cause analysis
- Maintain strong warehouse organization, slotting discipline, and location accuracy
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline warehouse staff
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching conversations
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and workforce planning
Productivity & Labor Management
- Manage labor planning, scheduling, overtime, and workforce allocation
- Drive productivity improvements while maintaining service quality and safety standards
- Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where needed
Continuous Improvement
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements
- Improve warehouse flow, space utilization, and labor effectiveness
- Participate in operational projects, layout changes, and scaling initiatives
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions as required

Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 5–10+ years of warehouse/distribution leadership experience
- Experience managing medium-to-large warehouse teams
- Strong operational leadership and problem-solving ability
- Experience with inventory control and warehouse systems (WMS)
- Proven ability to improve warehouse productivity and service performance
- Strong leadership, communication, and accountability skills
Preferred
- Experience in multi-site distribution environments
- Experience in fast-paced fulfillment or distribution operations
- Experience scaling operational processes in a growing company
- Lean, CI, or process improvement experience
