Cree Nation Deputy Director for Justice (Abitibi-Témiscamingue)

Shape the future of justice services as the Deputy Director for the Cree Nation. This permanent full time role focuses on program oversight, community partnerships, and effective communication.
The Deputy Director will collaborate with various stakeholders, ensuring the development and implementation of crucial justice initiatives tailored to the Cree community. Emphasizing transparency and accountability, this position requires a solid foundation in justice law, operational frameworks, and management skills. You’ll play a key role in preparing materials for key committees and guiding efforts in justice and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess departmental program implementations
- Collaborate on policies with the CAVAC Advisory Board
- Prepare and review funding proposals prior to submission
- Maintain timelines and address operational complaints
- Conduct performance evaluations for staff and direct reports
Requirements
- Eight to twelve years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminology or related field
- Familiarity with Cree culture and customs
- Capacity to adapt and maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to travel regularly
