Position: Multi-Service Worker (Housekeeping/Dietary Aide/Recreation Assistance)
Type: Casual
Job Summary: We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Assisted Living Multi-Service Workers to join our team. Reporting to the Assisted Living Coordinator, you will provide front-line support and services to our residents, encouraging their independence in a home-like environment. In this role, you will be providing a variety of services including meal service assistance, housekeeping and recreation activities assistance. You will be a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, committed to excellence in service delivery and fostering a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and serve residents in accordance with provincial assisted living regulations and Carefree Manor policies.
Monitor and observe residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting observations to the Care Aide and/or Executive Director.
Complete tasks as per shift-specific routines and checklists: Housekeeping and Dietary aide tasks
Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff, while maintaining confidentiality.
Report critical and unusual incidents to the Care Aide or Executive Director.
Assist residents in maintaining a tidy and hygienic environment.
Utilize equipment as per operating instructions and exemplify infection control practices.
Monitor residence areas to ensure safety and security, performing security patrols as needed.
Participate in meetings and committees to support organizational goals.
Lead and follow emergency responsiveness policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Minimum Grade 10 education with relevant experience and training (housekeeping, dietary aide, activity aide, etc.)
· WHMIS, Food Safe, and other conditions of hire as required.
· Fitness to complete job duties.
· Clear, recent criminal record check.
· Experience working with seniors with health challenges preferred.
Physical Demands:
Significant amount of sitting, standing, reaching, walking, lifting, and transferring.
Frequently lifts objects up to 10 kg; occasionally up to 20 kg.
Frequent eye-hand coordination and fine motor tasks.
Ability to handle physically and mentally demanding situations.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently or collaboratively with the health care team.
Clear communication skills in English.
Compassion, dependability, maturity, and self-discipline.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to perform job requirements.
Experience with dementia, senior care, or related training preferred.
Wage: $23.89 per Hr.
$29.62 per hour
