Scientific Review Manager (18 Month Contract)

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Scientific Review Manager for an 18-month contract role in Toronto. The position involves conducting risk-based reviews of medical materials, leading cross-functional initiatives, and implementing AI-enabled tools to strengthen governance and compliance within the Medical Affairs Group.
Responsibilities
- Conduct expert, risk-based reviews of medical materials for healthcare professionals and compliance
- Lead cross-functional material review initiatives from strategy through implementation and optimization
- Develop, maintain, and train teams on SOPs, work instructions, and controlled review documents
- Research and develop evidence-based scientific responses to medical information requests from professionals
- Analyze review trends, risks, and performance metrics to improve quality and efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Life Science; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience, including 2-3 years in medical review
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian pharmaceutical regulations and Health Canada requirements
- Strong scientific literature evaluation and risk-based judgment skills
- Experience developing and maintaining SOPs and procedural documentation
- Proficiency with Veeva Vault, Microsoft Office, Copilot, and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent written and verbal communication with cross-functional influence ability
