Sr. Industrial Maintenance Technician Full time | Day shift | St. Catharines, ON Position Summary Our client, a leading North American manufacturer of high-end custom cabinetry, is seeking a skilled Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician to join their team. This is a key role focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing advanced CNC equipment to ensure high-performance production with minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities - Perform installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on advanced machinery, including 5-Axis and Nesting CNCs, Edgebanders, Automated Sanders, and Conveyors.
- Optimize machine setups for efficiency, accuracy, and reduced downtime.
- Advise on tooling improvements to enhance product quality and throughput.
- Develop and manage documented preventive maintenance schedules, including tooling, calibration, and safety checks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic issues.
- Support machine operators and pre-production staff by embedding best practices into systems and protocols.
- Maintain accurate service logs, repair records, and documentation.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineering teams, and external contractors on upgrades and performance improvements.
- Coordinate inventory of maintenance supplies and critical spare parts.
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and technology upgrades.
- Mentor and train junior technicians to strengthen technical capabilities across the team.
- Ensure compliance with OHSA, lockout/tagout, and facility safety standards.
- Contribute to audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience - 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably wood panel processing (10+ years preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Homag, Biesse, and IMA equipment is highly desirable.
- Technical diploma in Electromechanical Engineering (or equivalent education and experience).
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for mechanical layouts.
- PLC troubleshooting and knowledge of automation systems are assets.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance, diagnostic tools, and best practices.
- Forklift and aerial lift certification (asset).
- Demonstrated knowledge of OHSA regulations and lockout/tagout standards.
