We are seeking a highly accomplished and analytical Senior Solutions Designer for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Toronto. In this role, you will take on a leadership capacity within the architecture and integration streams, specializing in the analysis, documentation, and modernization of complex legacy system architectures.

As a principal solutions designer, you will bridge the gap between high-level business goals and technical execution, with a heavy emphasis on data lineage and enterprise ETL ecosystems. Operating within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, you will translate intricate operational workflows into scalable future-state designs while ensuring compliance with data quality, accessibility, and architectural governance frameworks.

Responsibilities
Architectural Blueprinting & Modernization: Lead the deep analysis, comprehensive documentation, and systematic modernization of legacy system architectures, focusing closely on data flows, dependencies, and complex system integrations.

ETL Analysis & Optimization: Provide expert-level analysis of enterprise ETL processes, identifying precise data lineage, mapping out transformation logic, and uncovering opportunities for pipeline simplification or optimization.

Design Artifact Generation: Develop robust architectural documentation for both current-state and future-state environments, creating detailed system context diagrams, data architectures, data flow diagrams, and interface specifications.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders, engineering squads, and specialized data teams to translate high-level operational requirements into scalable, stable, and maintainable solution designs.

Governance & Standards Compliance: Ensure all proposed technical solutions strictly align with established architecture principles, security structures, information management standards, and regulatory compliance rules.

Design Integrity & Support: Facilitate formal design review boards and guide development teams during implementation phases, resolving active design constraints to safeguard end-to-end architectural integrity.

Risk & Impact Management: Proactively isolate technical risks, identify hidden system impacts, and define practical mitigation strategies regarding technical debt inside legacy codebases.

Component Reusability Strategy: Map business processes directly to supporting data streams to promote the reuse of existing modular components, web services, and shared data assets.

Stakeholder Facilitation: Act as a central communication driver to explain complex technical designs, architecture patterns, and technical trade-offs to both developer communities and non-technical business partners.

Qualifications
Core Requirements (10+ Years of Experience)
ETL Tools Expertise: Strong, hands-on experience designing and tuning enterprise ETL platforms, with specialized mastery over Informatica PowerCenter and/or Informatica Cloud (IDMC) mapping and workflows.

Data Integration & Modeling: Expert-level knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, metadata frameworks, and tracking complex end-to-end data lineage.

Legacy System Reverse-Engineering: Proven experience decomposing, documenting, and modernizing highly complex legacy architectures and distributed application integration points.

Artifact Production: Demonstrated mastery in authoring technical solution artifacts, including high-level and detailed designs, context diagrams, and interface specifications.

Enterprise Frameworks: Strong understanding of structured information management principles, enterprise I&IT architecture frameworks, and formal gate review governance processes.

Accessibility Design: Functional knowledge of digital accessibility compliance standards (AODA) and their practical impacts on modern application and interface design.

Consulting & Stakeholder Relations: Top-tier relationship management and engagement skills, with a track record of clarifying architectural decisions and aligning cross-functional teams.

Desirable Skills
Cloud & Modern Integration: Experience utilizing modern data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and cloud ETL platforms like Azure Data Factory or Informatica IICS.

API & Microservices Architecture: Familiarity with modern integration patterns, API designs, and microservices topologies.

Advanced Querying: Strong proficiency with relational database engines (Oracle, SQL Server) and writing advanced, highly optimized SQL.

DevOps Practice: Exposure to DevOps workflows, automated validation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for data assets.
