Your future role

You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our rail systems while contributing to the development of state-of-the-art transportation solutions. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across the business (e.g., System Design, Installation, Validation & Testing) to deliver high-quality safety and RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) solutions, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

You’ll specifically take care of performing hazard analyses and safety studies, but also oversee the validation activities required to meet safety and reliability targets.

We’ll look to you for:

• Supporting the lead PSAM in managing RAMS activities and related deliverables to meet QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) commitments.

• Assisting in the development of safety assurance strategies and ensuring the safe integration of systems within Alstom's scope.

• Defining and monitoring safety and RAM requirements to achieve acceptable risk levels and performance targets.

• Performing hazard analyses, safety studies, and safety design reviews to define and allocate safety requirements.

• Reviewing and evaluating railway safety risks and ensuring their resolution using the Hazard Management Tool (Hazard Log).

• Coordinating RAM/Safety contributors from different entities to ensure alignment and compliance with applicable standards.

• A degree in Electrical, Electro-mechanical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent).

• At least 3 years of experience in RAM/Safety Management within industries such as transportation, aerospace, defense, space, military, nuclear, or chemical; railway industry experience is preferred.

• Good understanding of CSM/CMREA, Safety and RAM processes (EN50126), and System Engineering concepts (ISO15288).

• Experience with RAMS analysis and demonstration methods and tools.

• Licensed (or eligible) with Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng.).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Proven time management and reporting skills, with a structured and organized approach.

• Resilience, adaptability, and a proactive mindset to overcome challenges and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $110,000 – $150,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
