ABOUT THE TEAM
The People Services team at RRC Polytech is a collaborative partner to leaders and employees across the College. We deliver programs in strategic HR advisory, talent acquisition, labour and employee relations, classification, compensation, employee experience, and organizational development, ensuring our people practices are fair, inclusive, and future focused. WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Pay & Benefits Specialist (PBS) is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of employee pay and benefit transactions.  The incumbent will calculate, verify, reconcile, document, and administer employee entitlements and benefit plans; ensure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, collective agreements, benefit plan provisions, and human resources/payroll policies and procedures; and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, entitlements, and benefits as required.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Completion of Payroll Compliance Certificate (PCP) or equivalent combination of education, training  & experience may be considered
• Significant recent experience in the provision of payroll and benefit administration
• Experience using an automated Human Resource Information System (HRIS) for processing of payroll, benefits and employee documentation
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
• Demonstrated customer service focus and results-oriented approach
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel, and experience working with other computerized database systems
• Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy
• Knowledge and experience applying Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requirements, collective agreements and other relevant payroll legislations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information
• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

• Salary Range for this position:  $54,571 - $76,814 per annum
• Generous Paid Vacation: full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year. Information on casual and part-time vacation accrual is outlined in the Collective Agreement or the Terms and Conditions for Excluded Employees as applicable
• December Break: employees receive time off with pay during the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day
