Our client, a major Canadian financial institution, is seeking an Intermediate Project Control Officer to join their Technology Operations team. This role is essential for maintaining financial governance, resource management controls, and operational efficiency across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will exercise independent judgment within defined procedures to support resource management and project financial governance, including GL reconciliation, tracking actuals vs. forecasts, and preparing impactful reporting for senior leadership.

Responsibilities
•Project Financial Governance: Manage and reconcile project financials, including GL reconciliation, accruals, chargebacks, invoice tracing, LE & actual updates, and variance analysis with commentary.
•Resource Governance & Tool Support: Oversee resource allocation governance, assist with onboarding users to the proprietary Eclipse tool, and provide first-line technical support.
•Reporting & Executive Summaries: Prepare financial, status, and resourcing reports for leadership and executive steering committees; synthesize complex data to tell an impactful story.
•Lifecycle & Operational Support: Maintain financial forecasts, monitor governance activities, track progress, and escalate risks, issues, and action items across all project phases.
•Month-End Priority: Support critical month-end operational activities and ensure strict adherence to reporting timelines.

Qualifications
•Experience: 3 to 5+ years of experience as a Project Control Officer (PCO), Senior IT Project Coordinator, or similar role in an enterprise environment.
•Financial Management: Demonstrated expertise in managing program/project financials, including GL reconciliation and executive financial reporting.
•Technical & Data Skills: Strong ability to pull, manipulate, analyze, and present data using tools like MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and SharePoint.
•Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong attention to detail, and a proven ability to synthesize data for high-level executive storytelling.
•Asset/Nice-to-Haves: Prior experience with Banks, familiarity with GL reconciliation, hands-on experience with Eclipse, Jira, Power BI, or Alteryx.
