Tax Assistant for OMERS in Toronto

Launch your tax career with OMERS as a Tax Assistant in Toronto. This 12-month term role offers hands-on experience in US tax matters within a dynamic, inclusive environment. We seek a motivated student currently enrolled in an Accounting and Financial Management program, ideally in their 3rd or 4th year. As a valuable member of our Tax team, you will engage in diverse tasks including research and analysis of tax issues, preparing tax provisions, and managing communication with tax authorities. Your contributions will shape our high-performing culture and drive meaningful results for OMERS and its partners. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in research and analysis of tax issues
- Help prepare tax provisions and make payments
- Manage communication with tax authorities regarding US notices
- Draft technical memos and tax-related documents
- Support initiatives for US corporate tax matters
- Enrolled in Accounting and Financial Management program
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in computer skills, Excel knowledge preferred
- Detail-oriented with strong time-management skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
